As Anjar continues to be ravaged by thunder showers and strong
winds and as buildings fall and life and property is destroyed,
one can only wonder, how long will it take before peace prevails?
And almost immediately our thoughts turn to the condition of the
inhabitants of Gujarat, who in a short period of time have lost
so much.
Interestingly, plastics offer a housing solution - Plastics
Houses.
 |
These house are durable and tough, |
 |
Can withstand earthquakes (upto seismic zone 5), |
 |
Are resistant to fire, tornadoes, hurricanes and cyclones
(upto 160 kmph). |
 |
In addition, each house is guaranteed for 25 years -
the guarantee covers the structure and all components (walls,
roofs, doors, windows and trims). |
 |
Are resistant to fire, tornadoes, hurricanes and cyclones
(upto 160 kmph). |
 |
A plastic house is also much more cost-effective than
a bricks and mortar house. The construction cost is substantially
lower and a plastic house is completely maintenance free, since
it is free of warpage, cracks and plastering, is rust, leakage
and termite proof and requires no painting. Thus the savings in
maintenance cost vis-à-vis a conventional house itself pays for
the cost of construction. |
Recently, Reliance, came forward and handed over two houses to
the Govt. of Gujarat. It takes just nine days to put up one complete
house - a house that has a living room, bedroom, kitchen, bathroom
and toilet. All its components - walls, windows, doors, roof, flooring
are made of PVC. The walls, made of hollow profiles made from PVC,
are filled with concrete.
