A new system has been developed that allows polymeric materials to be laser decorated without affecting it's surface. It is now possible to realise many coloured laser markings on materials with either coloured (such as green and orange) or black backgrounds. The system also allows for realising several coloured laser markings on light coloured materials and the markings can be used on various objects and shapes. The system would find applications in the automotive, ICT and electronics industries for decoration, security and anti-counterfeiting purposes.
