RPC Containers, in England, have introduced transparent PET cans in the sizes of 750ml and one liter to enhance display of paint colours. These products have particularly improved the introduction of gold, silver and copper colours.

These transparent PET cans have been produced by injection stretch blow moulding system developed by the PCC group. This new technology is available on license from the PCC group. The capital cost of ISBM (Injection Stretch Blow Moulding Machine) along with the required ancillary equipments is about US $ 500,000 and has a capacity of 6 million PET cans of 750-1000 ml capacities.

RPC Containers has also developed transparent PP cans in larger capacities of 2.5 and five liters.

This new development of transparent paint cans would definitely make some inroads into the present market of opaque PP cans.
